Overview
Is the default iPhone camera application - a privacy leak?!
Frequent users of the iPhone camera application all know how easy it is to add location information (geotagging) to digital photos.
By tagging your photos it's easy to organize your albums, and services like Flickr let you explore your photos by displaying them on a map. These tools are useful, but geotagging your photos can pose real risks that you may not be aware of.
When you add geotags to your photos and upload them directly onto your blog, it's possible that you are revealing the exact location of where you live. This is an often highlighted drawback of the default camera application that comes with the iPhone.
GeoWiseCamera – for your protection.
It would be great if you could use geotagging without having to worry about privacy, but it’s a pain to have to turn geotagging on and off yourself every time you take a photo. This is where GeoWiseCamera comes in - it does all this for you automatically.
It automatically detects your location, and knows if you are in an area where you would prefer not to add a geotag (Private Area). Geotags are only added when you are in a safe location, so you can freely take your photos and have them directly published onto the web.
User-friendly Private Area settings.
In order to detect whether or not you are in a safe area you must pre-select your Private Area, but this is all done easily without entering any complicated longitude-latitude settings.
You set it up by simply selecting any point or area on the map, or you can use the search function to help you find out your current location and place names. You can also add multiple personalized Private Area settings, like ‘home’ ‘office’ and ‘friend’s house’.

Private area settings
Private area is set with the button under the left of the camera screen.

A private area is an area where you would prefer not to add a geotag. A private area consists of a certain place and the range.
When 'Add New Area' is tapped, the map screen is displayed. Display the place to be set to a private area by zooming the map.
Search location by the name and the zoom in current location are also possible.

When the target place displayed, put the pin on the map with 'Drop Pin' button. The pin can be moved by drag & drop.

Confirm it with 'Next' button when the place is decided.
Specify the name for save and the range in the area on a detailed screen.
The address is displayed in the column of the name by default, and rewrite it if necessary.

Next, specify the range in the area by operating the slider. The displayed distance is a radius from the pin.

When an upper right 'Save' button is tapped, a new private area is saved.
You can also add multiple personalized Private Area settings, like ‘home’ ‘office’ and ‘friend’s house’.
Determination of geotagging
In AUTO mode, geotagging is automatically determined depending on the private area settings.
The result is displayed in the bar in the upper part of the camera screen. When the color of the bar is green, geotagging is ON, and if the color is red, geotagging is OFF.

The bar is displayed in yellow when the GPS signal is weak and measurement error margin is large, and the geotagging is turned OFF. It is because the possibility that the acquired location information is inaccurate. When there is no private area settings, geotagg is turning OFF, also.
If you don't worry to the inaccuracy, the geotag can be compulsorily added by turning ON the mode.
